Etymology of the name ARIANA.
Meaning of the baby name ARIANA.

ARIANA.  Feminine form of Welsh Arian (q.v.), meaning "silver."

ARIANA.  Feminine form of Albanian Arian (q.v.), meaning "Persian."

ARIANA.  In Greek Αρειανή.  An old name for Iran (Persia), meaning "tiller of the soil." (Library of Universal Knowledge, Clare, v.1, 1898).  See Aryana.  Moody derives Aryan from Persian Ar, Sanskrit Arya, meaning "honored." (What Is Your Name?, Moody, 1863).

ARIANA.  The same as Clare's Ariana above.  It is actually the Latin form of Greek 'Αρειανή (Persia), and might more properly be rendered "Persian," or "Aryan."  But most authors make it a form or corruption of Greek Ariadne (q.v.), meaning "the exceeding holy." (A New School Dictionary of the English Language, Worcester, 1908).  They are probably all cognate, including the Welsh.  The French have Ariane.
Ariana Nozeman (d. 1661), was a Dutch actress.  Ariana Joan Grande, an American actress and singer. (Wiki)
